Kids are scrambling to find that last minute addition to their costumes today as they get set to collect a year's worth of candy in just a couple of hours.

Its time for all the little ghouls and goblins, knights and princesses to collect some candy. Today is of course Halloween and that means kids will be out in full force tonight in Moose Jaw.

Corporal Blair Bucsis with the Moose Jaw Police Service reminds us to take some time and think about safety.

"We want them to wear something that will show up and if they are wearing dark clothing to have some sort of flashlight or candy bag that's reflective. We also want them to follow the rules of the road, cross at corners and not just running across the street, and travel in groups."

But as we all know there can be problems on Halloween and that's why police will be out in full force.

"Yes we will but there will also be people assisting us. HAM (radio) operators will be assisting us in keeping an eye out for potential problems and letting us know via radio contact if we need to go into an area."
