As we await the verdict in the 1st degree murder trail of Kim Walker, the victim's mother is voicing her displeasure with the way her son was portrayed at the trial.

The jury deliberations continue in the 1st degree murder trial of Kim Walker. The 50-year old man accused of killing his daughter's drug dealing boyfriend.

Walker admits to killing James Hayward in 2003 at a well-known Yorkton drug house, but says it was never intentional. Despite the fact he went to Hayward's home with a loaded handgun. During the trial Walker testified that he couldn’t remember anything that happened.

Hayward's mother, Lorrie Getty of Moose Jaw is unhappy with the way her son is being portrayed at the trial. "He was a good person and the public has not been well informed. The defence claims that Mr. Walker saved his daughter, but because no one told me that James was taking morphine I was not able to save my son."

The judge in case has instructed the jury to focus on whether or not Walker intended to kill Hayward since he has already admitted to the killing. It now comes down to first-degree murder, second degree murder, or manslaughter.
