Are you a car or truck enthusiast that wants to hang out with others that share that same passion for vehicles?

Every Thursday night at around 6:30 p.m. the Hot Rod Hangout takes place at the Civic Centre Plaza parking lot.

The informal gathering brings folks together with their classic cars and trucks, hot rods or any cool vehicles and meet people and talk about all things car-related.

One of the organizers, Terry Neufeld, said it is open to more than just hot rods and classic cars.

“We started off mostly with just classic cars, but there's a lot of people that don't drive classic cars, but they have really cool cars. So, we just opened it up. Anybody's allowed: trucks, cars, buses, whatever people want to bring,” he said.

The Hot Rod Hangout started out five years ago in the Town ‘n’ Country Mall parking lot.

Corey Hadley first suggested the idea of car enthusiasts getting together after seeing several similar get-togethers during a trip to Arizona.

Even if you don’t have a car, Neufeld said you can come down and check out the cars and talk shop with other participants.

“Anybody who wants to come, bring your car, don't bring your car, just come and look. If you want to talk cars, come up and see us,” he said.

The Hot Rod Hangout is free of charge to attend.
