The team at Buffalo Pound Provincial Park has plenty of activities in the works to bring people together to celebrate Canada Day.

The festivities kick off on Saturday, June 29 at the Elmwood Beach Day-Use Area at 11 a.m. With the pavilion area serving as a ‘cool down zone’ and the hub for activities such as a bubble station, numerous games and, of course, Canada Day themed face painting.

Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a sweet treat in between the fun and games on offer thanks to the provincial parks team.

“A tradition with the parks, and particularly with Buffalo Pound Park, there will be cake served between 11:45 and 12:15, in between scheduled activities,” said Dave Bjarnason, Parks Manager for Buffalo Pound.

Those with a love for competition will be able to put together a team and take part in the Sask Parks Summer Triathlon, going head-to-head in a series of family-oriented events, during which competitors can win some prizes.

The potential for outdoor fun isn’t just limited to the Canada Day festivities explained Bjarnason.

“Everything will be operational at that point in time, mini golf will be open, and the pool will be open,” he said.

“Concession will be open, so there will be no shortage of activities to do in conjunction with or alongside these other activities that are planned.”

The Buffalo Pound Park team invites everyone to check out their website to find out about all the events and activities they have planned for the summer.
