This episode of the Discover Moose Jaw News Podcast comes from an interview that our reporter Cameron Koch conducted with Candis Kirkpatrick. Kirkpatrick was born and raised in Mossbank, moved to Moose Jaw for many years, and currently lives in the Battlefords.

She recently published her debut novel 'Crows and Cheesecake', which is about Nadine “Naddy” Bennet. Bennet was divorced and alone for over twenty years before marrying her true love in her 60’s. Widowed after only eight years, she allows her daughter to persuade her to move to a senior's home. Under the too-close scrutiny of the home’s manager, Naddy finds her independence threatened. Committed to breaking free, Naddy hatches an escape plan that lands her on the open road.

Kirkpatrick will do an author reading at the Moose Jaw Public Library on June 13 at 7 p.m.
