Marlene Fay Barr aged 92 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, at the Moose Jaw Special Home Care.  Marlene is survived by her sisters, Donna Hamm (Dave) and Sharon Tremka (Don d.) of Red Deer, AB, and by her sister-in-law, Marilyn Barr of Regina, SK.

Her teens and adult years were spent in Moose Jaw where she attended Moose Jaw Tech and worked at the Co-op until she met and married Gordon Barr in 1953.  They had 3 boys - Cameron (Susanne), Myron (Anita), and Dalton (Penny); 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Getting together with family and friends was always important to Marlene and she loved to entertain.  She had a love of music and attended a variety of concerts.  Marlene travelled extensively and enjoyed country drives.  Marlene and Gord farmed in the Westview district then moved to the Moose Jaw district in 1977, where they continued farming until 2004.  They were active in the Free Methodist Church and enjoyed their time spent at the cabin at Arlington Beach.  They continued to live in Moose Jaw and after Gordon’s passing in 2016, Marlene stayed in their home until 2018, when she then moved to Mulberry Estates.

Marlene moved to the Arbour Unit West Park Retirement Home in 2021 and in October of 2023, when she required more care, she moved to the Moose Jaw Special Care Home.  Marlene remained there until her passing, reuniting with her husband, parents, family, friends, and her Lord.  Thank you to the staff at the Moose Jaw Special Care Home and at the Arbor unit for their care, kindness, and compassion.
