Megan Patterson has been acclaimed as the Saskatchewan Party’s candidate for the Moose Jaw Wakamow riding in the upcoming provincial election.

The nomination meeting was held on Thursday night at the Church of Our Lady.

The seat is currently held by Greg Lawrence, who is now sitting as an independent after resigning from the Saskatchewan Party caucus this week due to legal issues. Lawrence had already announced he was not seeking re-election.

Melissa Patterson has already been named the candidate for the NDP in the Moose Jaw Wakamow riding.

The next Saskatchewan provincial election is slated to take place on or before Oct. 28.
