Moose Jaw and District Food Bank has been in town for years, using your help to feed the community and never asking for much in return.

With the holiday season starting to really kick into gear though, they need the help of Moose Jaw to upgrade their facility.

"Our current location right now is no longer feasible for the need that we have coming into the food bank," said Deann Little, Assistant Manager for the food bank. "Instead of buying a new location that would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, we are trying to raise ten thousand dollars for just material. The labour has all been covered, it's all free everyone donating their time."

Currently, the food bank is only a tenth on the way to their goal, with $1,220 out of the $10,000 raised, and still needs donations.

If you'd like to help another way, starting at 1 pm today (October 7th), the food bank is asking tool savvy Moose Javians to come down and help with the renovations.

"The renovations have already started. The inside is all ready. Things have been moved around already with temporary things in place that we have," added Little.

If you'd like to volunteer, you can bring your drills, driver, extra batteries and craftsmanship to help out today.
