It wasn’t the start to the Moose Jaw Little League AAA Major All Stars had in mind at the Canadian Championships, as they would drop their first game to Quebec 14-0.

Cruz Schwabe would start the game and went one and two third innings allowing two runs on two hits while striking out two.

After a scoreless first inning, Quebec would get on the board first, after a two-out double would score a pair to take the early 2-0 lead.

In Moose Jaw’s half of the inning, they loaded the bases, but a fielder’s choice and a strikeout would end the inning with Quebec still leading 2-0.

Quebec opened the game up in the top of the third, scoring six runs to take a commanding 8-0 lead.

Another bases-loaded situation would appear for Moose Jaw in the bottom of the third, but an inning-ending strikeout held the All Stars off the board.

Quebec went on to score another six runs and due to the mercy rule, the game would end after four innings.

Moose Jaw will have Thursday off and will return to action on Friday when they take on Alberta at 5:30 p.m.
