Another cold snap is over but we're staring down the barrel of another batch of cold weather today.

Five communities set new record lows on New Year's Day in the province with Stony Rapids dropping down to -46 degrees without the windchill. 23 different centres hit -35 degrees with 12 of them touching -40, that makes the -26 we saw in Moose Jaw seem a little more toasty.

We'll warm up to -4 degrees by Friday morning but then another system of cold air will move in. It will start with snow Friday afternoon that could leave up to 10cm on the ground, followed by a mass of arctic air and this one could be even worse that what we just had.

Lows are expected to down near -35 degrees at night and daytime highs will struggle to break -30.
