The second Native Prairie Speaker Series webinar will be taking place this afternoon in conjunction with Native Prairie Appreciation Week.

Carolyn Gaudet, manager at the Saskatchewan Prairie Conservation Action Plan, encourages everyone to attend the free webinar which is set to take place over noon hour.

"On Tuesday we have the Ryans from the Royal Saskatchewan Museum," said Gaudet. "They'll discuss the awesome collections that exist at the RSM, how they're used for research and education, and they'll talk about some of the prairie research the staff at the RSM is currently doing."

Ryan Fisher, curator of Vertebrate Zoology, and Ryan Oram, curatorial assistant of Invertebrate Zoology from the Royal Saskatchewan Museum will speak all about prairie research.

The presentation will touch on the uses for the collection and discover a few of the research programs held in the province.

"We're trying to encourage the general public to learn more about it so that we can work towards conserving native prairie," she added.
