It's official - representatives from Norway will be in Moose Jaw this week.

According to the City of Moose Jaw, Mayor Fraser Tolmie, Tourism Moose Jaw and other delegates will be welcoming the Deputy Mayor from Norway to the Friendly City this Friday.

Linda Otnes Henriksen of Stor-Elvdal, Norway will be in Moose Jaw March 1st - 6th for a "Moose Summit."

“We are excited to welcome Ms. Henriksen to Moose Jaw,” exclaimed Moose Jaw Mayor Fraser Tolmie in a written release. “Although she has suggested the possibility of the two moose becoming equal in size, we can’t ignore the overwhelming financial and emotional support that has been offered in the name of making Mac the world’s tallest moose statue. However, there is potential for future tourism and economic development partnerships with Norway that we will certainly discuss during her visit and we know our community, including Mac the Moose, will welcome her with open arms.”

The release stated that Henriksen will get a tour of our city, be introduced to Mac, take in a Moose Jaw Warriors game, and tour some local schools along with various other exciting stops throughout the week.
