Legislative Secretary for the Music Industry Review Joanne Crofford spends some time in Moose Jaw Wednesday.

The focus is building the music industry here in Moose Jaw and around Saskatchewan.

Musicians, producers, songwriters, and other members of the Saskatchewan music scene gathered at the Moose Jaw Public Library to do some brain storming Wednesday with Joanne Crofford, Legislative Secretary for the Music Industry Review. "Because we're having four major music events in Saskatchewan next year... we should use that opportunity to showcase our music industry in Saskatchewan and to see through these consultations how we can build that industry."

Local recording artist and producer Jared Robinson believes the meeting was beneficial to everyone in attendance. "All of us being in one room and tossing around our ideas and what we've been doing in the last few months towards our goals like that has just kind of given everyone else things to work with or some people to work with."

Moose Jaw will host the Western Canadian Music Awards next fall.
