After seeing daytime highs that rivalled even Las Vegas, Saskatchewan is getting some much needed relief after spending the better part of a week dealing with extreme heat.

While it's not unusual for us to a handful of days with a Humidex of 40 degrees or hotter, hitting those temperatures before the humidity is factored in is rather unusual. After setting record highs on Friday and Saturday, the high pressure ridge finally broke on Sunday but we didn't get the rain that we were promised. There were a few scattered showers in the area but nothing significant.

We'll see much cooler temperatures to start the weekend and then jump back to the upper 20s to end the week.
