Monday marks the start of the City of Moose Jaw's 'Paved Roads Project' on a stretch of road on Main Street.

A temporary closure of Main Street between Saskatchewan Street East and MacDonald Street, with the work expected to be completed in two weeks if weather permits.

The work will begin on the southbound lanes, during which the northbound lanes will remain open. Upon completion, the crews will switch to the northbound lanes and open for southbound traffic.

The northbound lanes will remain closed until milling, paving and line painting is completed. The city notes that the painting of southbound lanes will only require the closure of a single lane at a time.

Businesses in the area will remain open with alternate access through Saskatchewan Street West and Clifton Avenue available.

Signs denoting detours will be in place, and the City of Moose Jaw asks drivers to exercise caution in construction zones and obey all signage for the safety of everyone.

If assistance is required, residents are encouraged to use the 'Report an Issue' feature on the City's app or website.
