We now know the name of the recipient of over $1.4 million that was won on a VLT machine on May 14 at Bugsy's Irish Pub.

Tammy Topinka of Moose Jaw won $1,436,484.22 after winning the province-wide grand prize jackpot on the Vault Breaker VLT.

"I was ready to faint," said Topinka while claiming her prize. "I couldn’t believe it!"

"At first, I thought I had won $14,000," she continued. "The guy sitting beside me had to tell me that I had actually won the jackpot!"

She said she has a few ideas on how she's going to spend the money.

"I’m going to pay some bills and put some money away for retirement," she said. "We also have some home improvements in mind - a new central air conditioner, fence and dishwasher!"

Vault Breaker is a wide-area progressive that links 4,200 VLT locations in about 570 sites in 270 communities across Saskatchewan. There are three mystery jackpot tiers: the province-wide grand jackpot that has a minimum value of $500,000 and pays out before it hits $1.5 million, the regional major jackpot with a minimum value of $5,000 and pays out before it hits $25,000 and the local jackpot minimum of $100 and pays out before hitting $500.

The province-wide jackpot has awarded over $29.6 million to 31 winners since July of 2017. With the win, the provincial grand jackpot resets to $500,000.
