A group in Moose Jaw is working hard to make sure Christmas holds something special for everyone, regardless of their stage in life.

Now into its third year, the group is called "Christmas Spirit for Seniors Moose Jaw".  Their mission is to make sure local area seniors, who might otherwise go without, get a gift on Christmas morning.

Ashley Armstrong is the person behind the program and she told us the numbers are growing.

"The first year we had about 18 seniors who signed up for the program. Last year that number jumped up to 26 seniors, and this year we had our first big jump and we've hit 44".

Every year the group reaches out to local senior care facilities to find out who will be alone at Christmas and without a gift.  Once that list is put together every person on it is assigned a tag.  People are then invited to select a tag and buy a gift for that person.  The presents are wrapped and given to seniors on Christmas morning.
