A pair of drug arrests in the city have put three people in custody awaiting court appearances.

 At 2 p.m. Thursday, police conducted a traffic stop on the 300 block of Lillooet Street West in connection with a drug investigation. 

They found a loaded, prohibited handgun in the vehicle, a large sum of Canadian money and cocaine with a street value of $9,000.

An adult female from Moose Jaw has been charged with trafficking cocaine and weapons offenses, and an adult male from Calgary was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and firearms charges. 

Police then executed a search warrant on a home in the 800 block of Hochelaga Street east late Thursday night.

They arrested an adult male leaving the residence, who was found to have a loaded prohibted handgun in his clothing, a large sum of Canadian currency and cocaine with a street value of $12,000.

An adult male from Calgary has been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and numerous offences.

Police say the investigation continues.
