The Vanier team of Logan Hauser and Ryann Hendley have put together quite the week on the badminton court.

After finishing second at Tuesday’s senior league night, the duo were back on the court for the junior league night on Wednesday and walked away with a first place finish in the mixed doubles division.

They edged out Vanier teammates Juliana Gerapusco and Gio Gardoque, who came in second, while Cornerstone’s team of Josh Gutek and Eva Gray were third.

In boys singles action, Vanier’s Ryan Zerff took top spot, while Riley Dombowsky and Ben Lewis of Cornerstone claimed second and third, respectively.

Vanier also came away with a first place finish in girls single action with Meisie Chamberlain taking top spot. Peacock’s Myra Szabo was second and Vanier’s Jenna Meili was third.

Cornerstone took top spot in both the girls doubles and boys doubles divisions.

The team of Irine Intara and Ui Hanafusa were first in the girls doubles division, while Peacock’s team of Skylar Ackerman and Alexia Aikman were second and Cornerstone’s Jazmin Thomas and Ella Brennan were third.

In boys doubles, Caleb Kaminski and Javan Atkins of Cornerstone took top spot. Peacock’s team of Josh Bullock and Copper McFadden were second and Central’s Ram Chawla and Jonah Neufeld finish in third place.

The junior league will host their city championship tournament after the Easter break on Wednesday, Apr. 26.
