It was announced on Tuesday that Young’s Equipment has made a significant donation to the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Young’s Equipment presented a cheque for $500,000 that will go towards the Provincial Pediatric and Critical Care Transport Team and the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon.

The pediatric transport team’s role is stabilizing, treating and transporting children to the hospital in the safest and quickest manner possible. The team is made up of registered nurses and PICU intensivists and respiratory therapists to provide care during transport.

“This partnership is possible because of the tremendous support from our employees and customers over the past 35 years. While we always hope these services won’t be necessary, the specialized care provided at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital, and the enhanced accessibility provided by the Provincial Pediatric Transport Team, make Saskatchewan a better place to live, work, and raise a family,” said Sean Young, assistant manager of Young’s Equipment, in a press release.

The Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation relies on donations like those to provide state-of-the-art equipment and programs at the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital and children’s healthcare throughout the province.
