Albert Jules Delaurier passed away August 11, 2018 at the age of 82. Albert will lovingly be remembered by his 3 sons and their families; Ron (Carla) and their children, Sharon Church (Cameron), Nicole Moore (Craig), Garret Delaurier; 5 Great Grandchildren, Adalie, Via, Eric, Ainsley & Norah; Daniel and his son Aiden; Robert (Carol Anderson) and their sons Catland Endicott & Mason Endicott; and loving companion Lucie Pouteaux. Albert was a loving husband to his late wife of 46 years, Sally (Corbel), who passed away in 2008. Albert was predeceased by his father Antoine in 1975 and his mother Juliette in 1991; siblings, Baby Marie in 1947, Raymond in 2004, Cyril 2014, and Louis in 2017. Albert will be remembered by his siblings, Marceline, Noel, Maurice, Lucien, Eugene, Edward, Marie, Henriette, Donald, Roland, Adrien, Gilbert, and their families. Albert was born ‘Jules Albert Delaurier’ on November 2, 1935 in Laurier, Manitoba. He was the 2nd oldest of 16 children born to Antoine and Juliette. Albert was raised on the farm at Laurier and took his oldest brother role seriously which earned him the nick name Dr. Law. As a young man, Albert worked the family farm, was a truck driver, CAT operator and lumberjack before becoming a boiler maker, which he did until his retirement. Albert and Sally married in 1962 and they travelled from job site to job site in a house trailer before settling in Moose Jaw in 1963.  Sally and Albert enjoyed many years entertaining in their home, camping, garage sailing, dancing, landscaping, renovating rental homes, traveling to exotic places and enjoying winters in Puerto Vallarta. Many memories were made right at home enjoying a great meal, a bottle of homemade wine and a card game. Albert worked as a Boiler Maker at Kalium Potash Plant in Belle Plaine, SK. for 35 years prior to his retirement. One of his proudest moments was working alongside his 3 Sons; Ron and Dan as carpenters and Robert as a fellow boiler maker. Albert was very proud of each of his boys. Albert volunteered with Seniors Bingo, Meals on Wheels and activities with The Knights of Columbus as well as ushering at St. Joseph’s Church for many years. A few years after Sally’s passing Albert met Lucie Pouteaux. They spent the next few years traveling and enjoying retirement. Lucie was a constant companion and cared for Albert throughout his battle with dementia. Many thanks to Lucie for the loving care she provided to Albert. Albert was loved and will be missed by special friends /family Cortney & Ivana who attend Diversified Services. Memorials to Moose Jaw Diversified Services for the Handicapped, 11 Wood Lily DR. Wigmore Hospital and the Nursing Staff at Extendicare for the Compassionate and Excellent care. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 1064 3rd Ave. NW, on Wednesday August 15, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Reverend George Thattuparampil will be the presiding celebrant. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. In living memory of a memorial planting will be made by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
