The Peacock Tornadoes football team looked back on the 2017 season last week as they handed out their annual awards.

Payton Chow walked away with the big award of the evening as he was named the winner of the Jack Willis Memorial Award as the team’s Most Valuable Player.

Chow along with Garrick Ward and Jackson Woloschuk shared the Brent Deets Memorial Award for Offensive Player of the Year.

The Defensive Player of the Year award went to Shawn Campbell, who also split the Barry MacDonald Memorial Award for Most Inspirational Player with Mason Kurz.

Campbell and Woloschuk also picked up the Bob Belisle Memorial Award.

Kurz, Ward and Riley Shaw shared the Doug Sastaunik Memorial Award.

Ward and Dallas Lister also shared the Special Teams Player of the Year award.

The Most Improved Player award was split by Hunter Viczko and Brodan Rempel, while Landon Schier and Dalton Hansen shared the Mike Peters Memorial Award as Linemen of the Year.

Kaige Heshka took the honour as the hardest worker in practice.

The Chris Sauder Memorial Award for Rookies of the Year went to Dylan Yamniuk and Drake Luebke in Grade 9/10, while Mustafa Mohammed took home the honour for Grade 11/12.

Landon Desrosiers won the Josh Stewart Memorial Award.

Woloschuk, Campbell and Ashton Woodley were all honoured as four-year graduating players.

Pacen Day, Katelynn Ofstedahl, Olivia Arndt, Sierra Ducharme and Georgia Legare were all presented Thank You plaques.
