The Saskatchewan Roughriders put to bed a lot of demons on Friday night as they rolled to a lopsided win at Commonwealth Stadium, snapping a 14-game road losing streak against the West Division.

The Riders cruised to a 54-31 win over the Edmonton Eskimos on Friday night to improve to 4-4 on the year, while also winning their second straight game.

Saskatchewan dominated from start to finish, jumping out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter, extending that lead to 26-6 by halftime and then keeping the peddle down in the second half with 14 points each in the third and fourth quarters.

The story of the game was the play of the Riders' defence and special teams, who combined for three touchdowns as well as a 113-yard missed extra point return for two points by Duron Carter.

Willie Jefferson scored on a blocked punt return, while Jovon Johnson and Kacy Rodgers picked off Mike Reilly on back-to-back drives in the third quarter and returned them for touchdowns just over two minutes apart.

All three Rider quarterbacks found the end zone in the game, Kevin Glenn finished 19-of-31 for 240 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

Newly acquired Vernon Adams Jr. ran in a touchdown, while Brandon Bridge went 1-of-1 for 12 yards and a touchdown.

Naaman Roosevelt had seven catches for 81 yards and a touchdown, all in the first quarter, while running back Cameron Marshall had seven carries for 44 yards and four catches for 61 yards and a touchdown.

The Riders will now get ready for back-to-back games against the West Division-leading Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
