The Seattle Thunderbirds' time at the 2017 Memorial Cup is up after they lost 7-0 to the Saint John Seadogs on Tuesday night to close out the round robin.

The WHL Champions had a rough trip to the national championship, going 0-3 and being outscored 18-3 in those three games.

It was Seattle’s first trip to the Memorial Cup in franchise history after they beat the Regina Pats in six games to win the WHL title earlier this month.

The host Windsor Spitfires face-off with the Erie Otters on Wednesday night to decide first place in the round robin. The Seadogs await the loser in the semifinals on Friday.

The championship final will go on Sunday with the winner of Wednesday’s game receiving a bye into the final.
