The Edmonton Oil Kings picked up a big Game 3 win over the Prince Albert Raiders on Tuesday night.

The Oil Kings skated to a 5-1 win in their first home game in the Eastern Conference Final, taking a 2-1 series lead.

Edmonton scored four straight goals to open the second period, Sean Montgomery would score for Prince Albert with one second left in the second, but that was as close as the Raiders were able to get.

Former Warriors forward Vince Loschiavo had two goals and three points for Edmonton in the win, while Oil Kings captain Trey Fix-Wolansky had three assists. 

Goalie Dylan Myskiw made 28 saves as Edmonton outshot Prince Albert, 39-29, at Rogers Arena.

Over in the Western Conference Final, the Spokane Chiefs struck back against the Vancouver Giants in Game 3, winning 3-2 in overtime on Tuesday night.

Jake McGrew scored midway through the extra period to lift the Chiefs to the win in the back-and-forth game.

Eli Zummack opened the scoring for Spokane with 2:20 left in the second period, but the team’s traded goals over the course of the third. Justin Sourdif tied the game 2:22 into the third and Luke Toporowski put the Chiefs back in front with 9:09 left in the frame.

Former Moose Jaw Generals forward Jared Dmytriw scored the game-tying goal for the Giants with 2:59 to go in regulation, but the Chiefs skated away with the win.

The Giants still have a 2-1 series lead over the Chiefs.

Both series are back on the ice for Game 4 on Wednesday night.
