Cities around Saskatchewan are hoping to see more money from the provincial government this week as they gather for policy meetings in Saskatoon.

Members of Moose Jaw City Council are in Saskatoon today taking part in the 102nd annual Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association convention.

Mayor Dale McBain is part of the contingent that is taking part in the meeting that will set our policies for the New Year and will develop requests for the provincial government.

"There's a number of resolutions with respect to increased revenue sharing from the province and I think those will pass. Hopefully when the premier comes for his address he'll make some announcement on revenue sharing. He did last year and we're hoping he'll do that again this year."

In addition to the meeting, Councillor Dawn Luhning is in the running for Vice President of Cities.

Due to the SUMA convention City Council has been cancelled for Monday night here in Moose Jaw.

But expect a lengthy meeting on February 12th as Council has a lot of work ahead of them. Our elected officials are still working on our budgets for the city and are facing some pretty hefty numbers that will likely end in a tax increase for our City.
