The Moose Jaw Fire Department saw a member of over 35 years retire on the weekend.

Senior Captain Bill Howes began working as a Firefighter in Moose Jaw in April 1989, demonstrating praiseworthy dedication in his position, and jumping in to help even on his holidays.

Fire Chief Rod Montgomery commended the work ethic and dedication of Howes. “Bill’s many years as a Firefighter, then as an Officer were outstanding and were evident in the respect, he had from the MJFD Administration and his fellow members. Senior Captain “Billy” Howes’ easy-going personality and big welcoming grin will be missed by all of us.”

Howes became a Shift Captain in October 2016 and was promoted to Senior Captain in June 2020.
