Have you ever been in front of an audience or a group of fellow employees and struggled to find the right words to say? Or do you, like most people, rank the fear of public speaking higher than the fear of death?

Big Country Toastmasters is here to help and will be hosting their first-ever virtual Open House tonight on Zoom starting at 7 pm.

President, Al Doucette.

"I thought I was a pretty good speaker, but I realized that there is a lot more to public speaking and leadership that had grown with me. We don't just talk about how to public speak, but how being a confident speaker also creates great leadership, and we have great leadership opportunities at Toastmasters. We don't mind if you mess up, we're here to help you."

The meeting will include a guest speaker, along with members and guests enjoying a regular Toastmasters meeting which includes prepared speeches, impromptu speaking opportunities, and evaluations, all aimed at helping you improve your skills.

"We do this in a very friendly and nurturing way," says Doucette, "We've had leaders from business, from communities, even clergies come in and practice their speeches in front of us. We will sit there and we will help you through what you feel you need to do, and we will be there for you."

Doucette says they at Toastmasters believe the best learning you do is when you're having fun, so they aim to keep the meetings at light as possible, all while being productive.
