Big Meeting for City Council

We can expect some heated debate at tonight's regular meeting of City Council as members are expected to approve their motion from 2 weeks ago regarding the multiplex project.

You may remember we were the first to tell you, Executive Committee decided to located the new facility at the current site of the Civic Centre and that the project would only included a hockey arena and a curling rink.

Something that isn't sitting well with the MultiPlex Builders according to Co-chair Dr. Paul Beesley. "We are at a bit of a cross roads here and I think it’s very important that the community becomes totally involved and educated on what the project really is. I would invite them to come to city hall and express and interest in pursuing this a little further that it has been at this point. We would just like City Council realize that they are making a very hasty decision that we think needs to be involved in the community a little more than it has been."

Council will meet at 6:30 tonight and a large crowd is expected in the gallery to voice their opinions on the MultiPlex project.
