Carnie's Comments

The locals are talking and I haven't heard from anyone who likes the changes that are on the way.

Next week, northbound parking and lane changes will go into effect on 1st Avenue NW in downtown Moose Jaw. 30 parking spots will be added on the east side of the avenue between Manitoba Street and Oxford Street.

What I don't like is the fact no meters will be installed. We'll have to download and use the city's "HotSpot App" to pay for parking or scan the QR code and pay online without the app. I don't know how to do that...yet.

What I like about it is the fact 1st NW will be left with one, single lane of traffic moving north and south. It'll slow vehicular traffic down in our downtown core and I think that's good.

We'll also have more parking available for those attending events at The Moose Jaw Events Centre.

And, today, it strikes me that some of the same people who tell me "there's no parking" around our downtown arena are the same people who are opposed to the upcoming changes.

I'm just sayin'.
