For the second time this school year, a Central Collegiate student has tested positive for COVID-19.

The school said in a letter to parents that was sent after 5 Friday that public health would be contacting the close contacts of the student, including parents or guardians of the students and any staff or visitors. “If you do not hear from them, your child has likely not been exposed because of the measures that are in place,” the letter, signed by principal Stephane Gauvin said.

In September, the school also had a student with a positive test but that was believed to be the only one at the school.

“We remind everyone entering schools to monitor for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19,” Gauvin’s letter said. “Refer to the daily self-assessment checklist. Please complete this before entering school each day.”

The school recommended calling the provincial HealthLine at 811 and remain at home if they have any COVID-19 symptoms.
