The Coronach RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 11-year-old boy from the Readlyn area.

Devin Thompson was last seen at around 5 p.m. on Friday at a rural property in the area. Police say he was wearing a hooded, light-brown denim jacket that goes down to his knees and black rubber boots with green soles.

He described as about four feet tall with light brown hair and brown eyes.

Police officers are searching approximately two miles west of Highway 36 and eight miles south of Crane Valley with assistance from the RCMP Police Dog Services and Search and Rescue Services.

The RCMP have been inundated with calls asking to assist in the search. Police are asking that 310-RCMP be called only for sightings of Thompson. The RCMP ensures the public sufficient resources are available for the ground search and CASARA and their aircraft have been enlisted to help.

The RCMP say is order for the air search to be success the area needs to be relatively clear of people.

If the public’s assistance is need for the ground search, the RCMP will put out a notice.
