It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our loved one, Dennis Weiers who passed away on April 2, 2024, at his home with his beloved wife Liz by his side.

Dennis was born in 1950 in St. Walburg, Sask. He grew up in Barthel and St. Walburg. He attended STI in Moose Jaw taking Motor Vehicle Mechanics. Dennis married his high-school sweetheart Liz in 1972 and they started their life together in Moose Jaw. Three years later they moved to Lloydminster where Dennis worked at Weldex. That same year their son Deloy was born. After a couple moves Dennis and Liz moved back to Moose Jaw where Dennis worked as an agriculture mechanic for John Deere. Shortly after their daughter Lynn came along and their family was complete. Dennis loved his job working on the tractors, field visits to the farmers which he of course loved to chat with. After almost twenty years he made the move to work for the City of Moose Jaw. When the first grandchild was born, Thomas, Dennis would stop in every day after work just to hold him for a few minutes before going home. Two years later two beautiful granddaughters came into their life, Raina, and Morgan. In 2009 when he had a trailer fall on him Liz and Dennis decided to retire.

Dennis always kept busy, he became the neighborhood watch dog, and was always ready to give a helping hand with whatever he could. He loved to visit, and Liz threatened to put a bell on him, so she knew where he was. Retirement brought long summer trips to the cabin, fishing, ice fishing and quad trips, day adventures with friends and lots of family time especially with the grandkids. Dennis had a great sense of humor although the family teased him about hardly ever smiling when having a picture taken. He was kind and always had time to converse with anyone even if he didn't know you and was always tinkering away at something.

Dennis is predeceased by his parents, Ed and Mary Weiers, in-laws, Fred and Alice Exner, brother-in-laws, Ken Dedrick, Rudy Schnaider, Helmut Hinteregger, Ted Berg, and Michael Nasby.

Dennis leaves to mourn his loving wife Liz of 51 years, son Deloy (Amanda), daughter Lynn, grandchildren Thomas, Raina, and Morgan. His siblings, Margaret, Evelyn, Helen, Dorothy, and Joan, sister-in-laws Alfreda Nasby and Elissa (Jason Ellis) and brother-in-law George Bonnet as well as many loved nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.

Special thanks to all of the Moose Jaw Palliative Care Team that enabled Dennis to remain at home, Dr. Brad Thorpe, the CCA (care aids), and the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic.

In lieu of flowers Dennis's choice of charity is the Moose Jaw Shrine Club as he loved what they do for the community and for children. An informal celebration of life will be held on May 4th, 2024, 2pm at the Moose Jaw Shrine Club, 1767 Main St N. Moose Jaw.

In living memory of Dennis, a memorial planting will be made by W.J. Jones & Son Ltd. Please sign the memorial register at website: www.wjjonesandson.com (Obituaries).
