The Moose Jaw Girl Guides are keeping busy with several fundraising efforts happening over the next couple of weeks.

While cookie sales fund various activities for Girl Guides units, including sleepovers, craft supplies, and camping trips, other fundraisers are being undertaken to support the girls who are taking trips to Ontario in 2025 and Europe in 2026.

“In total, there’s about 40 people between both trips that will be travelling,” explained Spark and Trek Guider, Melanie Pilloud.

Cookie Sales

The Girl Guides will be holding cookie sales at Safeway this Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

“Cookies are our only official fundraiser that supports all of our local units,” said Pilloud.

The cookies are being sold for $6/box, and the group sale will accept cash or card payments.

“We also are accepting donations so that we can send cookies to our local foodbank. To date, and the group sales that we’ve had so far, we have enough to donate six cases.”

Spring Community Garage Sale

Pilloud said they’ll be having a garage sale this Saturday, April 27, at the Town N Country mall from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.

You’ll find a sign to access their garage sale in the mall on the south side of the building, near Galaxy Cinemas.

“We are accepting donations right now that we will sell at our community garage sale, so if the community has anything to donate to us, we are happy to pick it up.”

Burger Night

Moose Jaw Girl Guides will be holding a burger night on Saturday, May 4, at Smitty’s/Bugsy’s in the Town N Country mall, with reservations available from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Smitty’s, or 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bugsy’s.

“We will also have some 50/50 games happening, as well as a raffle table set up at the mall all day,” added Pilloud.

Tickets for the Burger Night are $20 each.

“You order beautiful flowers any time before May 7, and the delivery is May 22,” explained Pilloud.
