We all know times have changed.  A lot of parents and children would rather stay inside and have a party for Halloween than go outside in the cold to "trick or treat".

I live in a nice, quiet neighbourhood near two elementary schools.  I only had about 15 kids come to the door last year.

However, there is proof that locals are celebrating the season by carving pumpkins and making jack-o-lanterns.  A number of local supermarkets have sold out of pumpkins with a number of them bringing in more!

The story has been unfolding on social media with moms and dads asking friends and followers where they get a pumpkin!  People with extras are sharing.

I see one local mom had two but needed four.  She bought two spaghetti squashes and they worked just as well.

Hey, if you've got a garden big enough for a pumpkin patch, you might consider it next spring.  Chances are you can make some money at this time next year.

Happy Halloween!
