The Moose Jaw Health Foundation’s (MJHF) summer concert series ‘Concerts in the Park’ returns, Wednesday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m., starting on June 19 with Derald Busse & Friends.

The concerts are free and take place at the Crescent Park Amphitheatre. Everyone is welcome to come out and enjoy the music.

“The Foundation is so appreciative of all the groups that volunteer their time, each and every year, for Concerts in the Park,” said Kelly McElree, executive director of the MJHF, who emcees the concerts every year.

“This is the 29th year, and we’re excited to see so many familiar faces in the crowd, and some new ones, as well. ... (Concerts in the Park are) the Foundation’s way of saying ‘thank you’ to donors and supporters in the community with this wonderful free event.”

Concerts in the Park has raised over $132,000 over its lifetime to help patients with new state-of-the-art equipment at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital. Funds raised from this year's Concerts will support the purchase of a state-of-the-art bronchoscope.

A bronchoscope is invaluable in diagnosing, treating, and monitoring lung and airway conditions, providing critical information and direct intervention with minimal discomfort. This new surgical procedure will diagnose and treat respiratory patients who have lung cancer, pneumonia, tuberculosis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Ryan Hrechka, MJHF chair, said that "Each year, people look forward to spending time listening to great music at Concerts in the Park. We appreciate all the bands that volunteer their time to entertain those that attend each week. Concerts in the Park are one way that the Foundation says ‘thank you’ to our donors."
