“A Notorious Summer.”

That’s the theme for this year’s Hometown Fair Parade, happening on June 20 at 7 p.m.

George Fowler, general manager with the Moose Jaw Exhibition Company, said they’ve already received some applications for floats, but they’re looking for more. “We want everyone to come out and enter floats for their businesses, or their club or organization.”

Fowler said that the parade route will start at the Town N Country Mall and proceed down Main Street. “Depending on the construction situation, we will either go all the way to Manitoba, or we will turn east on High Street.”

Fowler added that the City intends to let them know closer to the date what construction will look like.

There’s a $25 registration fee, but multiple float entries are allowed from an organization or business with that single payment. “That helps cover hiring security to be at each of the intersections just for safety purposes.”

Float participants cannot throw anything off the floats or use water pistols. “We want people to be tasteful and also respectful of people’s feelings,” explained Fowler.

Fowler said they’re looking for people to submit their applications by mid-June. Applications can be found on the Moose Jaw Exhibition Company website here
