Overwhelming community support.

That is the best way to describe what the Moose Jaw Warriors must be feeling as they arrived at the Moose Jaw Events Centre Sunday afternoon after taking a two-game series lead over the Portland Winterhawks in the WHL Championship Series.

Hundreds of Moose Jaw Warriors' fans congregated at Moose Jaw Events Centre and along the Manitoba Street East to welcome the team home Sunday afternoon.

"I've been watching the warriors since the old Civic Center, I would say the early 2000s, and since then I've never seen a team that's been so stacked like we are this year," said Ryley Wilson.

"I think Jason Ripplinger did a really good job. He's a smart guy [with] all the moves that he made, especially this year and building up over the last couple of years. We seem to keep getting better every year!"

Also in attendance, Gerry Meili a 25-year Moose Jaw Warriors season ticketholder. Having experienced the highs and lows of a franchise fan, he told Discover Moose Jaw what feels different this year.

"The way the team came together, you know, they seemed to really gel and then they picked up some good players. I liked all the players they picked up."

"The guys come back from the World Juniors and they said get [Matthew] Savoie and he's been really good for us, added Meili.
