The 3-year hiatus is finally over, with the Moose Jaw Kinsmen Club Santa Claus Parade returning to Main Street on Sunday, December 4, at 6 pm.

Kinsmen Club Co-Chairman, Kirk Olson, is excited to be back on track this holiday season.

“We don’t have the stipulations that we had with COVID in the past, so we decided we’d try to have a regular parade [again], and hopefully everybody will be out enjoying [it] this year.”

This year, the route will start at Moose Jaw's Town n’ Country Mall.

Cars and floats will travel down Main Street until reaching the Moose Jaw Event Centre, where Santa will deliver the highly anticipated ‘Lights On Ceremony,' in which the Kinsmen Christmas Tree is lit up for the whole town to see.

Children will then be able to meet with Mr. and Mrs. Claus and enjoy some hot chocolate and cookies.

There are no fees to enter a float, however, floats must follow the theme of Christmas. The Kinsmen Club also asks that no one dresses up as a fake Santa, since the real Santa Claus will be in the parade.

Canada Post will be collecting Christmas letters from the kids to send to the North Pole, so all of the elves know what presents to make for the nice-list children.

The Moose Jaw and District Food Bank will be in attendance as well, so anyone interested in making food donations for the less fortunate this holiday season is advised to bring non-perishable food items.
