Premier Lorne Calvert drops the writ and sends us to the polls Wednesday, November 7th for the next provincial election.

 

The writ has been dropped and we will be heading to the polls in just under a month.

Premier Lorne Calvert has made it official and has asked our Lieutenant Governor to dissolve Parliament to allow for an election on Wednesday, November 7th.

According to the Elections Saskatchewan website, the request was made Wednesday afternoon and Lieutenant Governor Gordon Barnhart has dissolved Parliament. Dr. Barnhart has sent an order to the Chief Electoral Officer to issue the election notice to the 58 different election returning officers in the province.
