The City of Moose Jaw announced this morning that Main Street North from Manitoba Street to High Street will reopen to traffic today.

The section of road has been closed since early May for infrastructure renewal to replace cast iron water mains and repaving.

Construction crews are still working on the zero block of River Street East between Main Street and First Avenue Northeast. Residents are being advised that the intersection of River Street and First Avenue Northeast will be closed to traffic beginning today.

Elsewhere, work is ongoing on Coteau Street from Ninth Avenue Southwest to 12th Avenue Southwest. The roadway will remain closed to traffic but the intersections at Ninth Avenue and 12th Avenue will remain open.

The City of Moose Jaw is advising the public that all businesses in these areas will remain open during construction and can be accessed via the sidewalk or temporary walkways. All work is dependent on weather.

Motorists are reminded to obey all temporary traffic signage and use caution in construction zones for everyone's safety.

Weekly updates on the water main replacement program and a full list of locations being done in 2024 can be found on the city's website.
