The Main Street overpass at the Trans Canada Highway was hit again this morning.

A semi heading westbound, carrying a rig shack struck the bridge, causing a traffic delay.

Damage caused by the incident is unknown at this time.

It was almost exactly one year ago that the overpass saw repairs made to correct the damage done when an over-height semi hit the bridge in the spring of 2017.  The Ministry of Highways performed those repairs, which closed the Highway 1 eastbound exit from Highway 2.

At the time, Doug Wakabayashi, Executive Director of Communications for the Ministry of Highways, hoped the repairs would serve as a reminder for truck drivers.

"The need for this work is an opportunity to remind people that truck drivers do have an obligation to know the height of their load and any overhead structures on their route. That information is always available on the web or from one of our Ministry offices."
