The Regina Red Sox scored the game-winning run in the top of the ninth inning to defeat the Moose Jaw Miller Express 4-3 on Thursday night at Ross Wells Park. 

Regina got on the board first with a two-run homerun from Jackson Syring. The Red Sox would then make it 3-0 when Diego Aragon scored off a Mathew Fox single. 

Moose Jaw got on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning when Elijah Bear hit a single to score Darren Hagan.  

The Miller Express then tied the game 3-3 in the bottom of the eighth. Garrette Dennis led off the inning with a solo homerun. Nate Mensik then hit a double later in the inning to score Hagan. 

In the top of the ninth, Justin Carinci’s single drove in Fox for Regina’s game-winning run as the Miller Express were held off the scoresheet in the bottom half of the inning. 

Hagan led the way at the plate for the Miller Express going two-for-four. Drew Sorrentino got the start on the mound and went four innings, allowing three hits, three earned runs and struck out five. 

Moose Jaw now heads on the three-game weekend road trip. They are in Weyburn on Friday night to face the Beavers before facing the Medicine Hat Mavericks on Saturday and Sunday in Medicine Hat.
