It's well known that Moose Jaw has a deep and storied history with plenty of remarkable landmarks around town. But did you know that there's now a whole board game based on our city?

Outset Media has partnered with Wal-Mart to bring a Moose Jaw inspired version of Monopoly to shelves this summer. Instead of Boardwalk and St. Charles Place, the tiles of the board are populated with iconic locations from around the city.

Jared Clarkson, public relations coordinator with Outset Media, says that Moose Jaw is the perfect kind of city for a game like this.

"Being able to get the really good balance of having enough people that the game is going to have some level of popularity, but also that it's a tight enough community where folks are really going to embrace the fact that's there's a Monopoly game based on their city."

Clarkson explains what he thinks makes the game so special.

"You're able to play a board game that celebrates the little things about your community that you love. Especially in a time where it's even more important to come together as communities and support each other and celebrate the great things about where you live. That's what we hope for."

Locations on the board include Mosaic Place, Crescent Park, and of course, Mac the Moose.

The game will be available exclusively at Wal-Mart.
