Moose Jaw speed skater Graeme Fish has been named Sask Sports January Athlete of the Month.

Fish earned four medals in three international competitions this past month.

Fish picked up his first podium finish with two gold medals at the Canada Cup 1 competition. He placed first in the 10,000-metre and 5,000-metre races.

The wins qualified Fish for the ISU Four Continents Speed Skating Championship in which he claimed a silver medal in the 5,000-metre race.

To round out the month, Fish competed at the ISU World Cup 5 event where he won a bronze medal and skated his best time of 6:11.06 in the 5,000-metre Division B race.

Fish was nominated for the Athlete of the Month award by the Saskatchewan Amateur Speed Skating Association.
