Parking metre rates could be going up this summer after a motion was approved by Moose Jaw City Council Monday night.

Don't worry about the nickels and dimes because it sounds like we'll need quarters and loonies.

Parking rates will be going up this summer in Moose Jaw thanks to a motion approved by City Council.

All 30 cent per hour metres will increase to 50 cents per hour along side streets and in parking lots on July 1st. Rates will go from 50 cents per hour to 1 dollar per hour for parking metres on Main Street.

The motion needs final approval at council's February 26th meeting.
