The Government of Saskatchewan announced that 303 new projects totaling more than $16.6 million has been approved under the Municipal Economic Enhancement Program (MEEP).
To date, 497 projects have been approved under this program for a total investment of $38 million. The deadline for municipalities to submit projects has been extended from July 17 to July 31.
Projects recently approved in the Moose Jaw area include:
- RM of Baildon No. 131, $89,112 for gravel crushing
- RM of Lake Johnston No. 102, $24,434 for Town of Mossbank new fire hall
- RM of Pense No. 160, $73,014 for Pense & District Volunteer Fire Department new fire hall.
- RM of Sutton No. 103, $34,495 for Town of Mossbank new fire hall.
- Town of Central Butte, $53,467 for lift station repairs.
- Village of Eyebrow, $17,104 for a mower.
- Village of Limerick, $16,529 to replace dugout pumphouse.
- Village of Tugaske, $10,780 for lift station pump.
The $150 million MEEP was announced in May and as part of the Government of Saskatchewan’s $7.5 billion, two-year capital plan to stimulate the economic recovery from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
All MEEP funding must be used by the municipalities by March 31, 2022.
