The Moose Jaw and District Food Bank first experienced plumbing issues on March 6, which resulted in the temporary suspension of services.

The cause of the plumbing issues was determined to be damaged sewer and water lines running to the building leaving the non-profit on the hook for a $30,000 repair bill.

Repairs to the sewer and water system began on the morning of March 13, and the community has rallied in support of the food bank.

The Mosaic Company donated $15,000 or half of the total repair bill, and as of this morning, donations from the community have amounted to $23,895.

The food bank is looking to reopen on Friday, March 15th, and to extend their hours on that day for their clients.
