The City of Moose Jaw Parks and Recreation Department will begin its spring weed control program on May 13, and will take place until the end of May.

Taking place every year in the spring and fall, the program aims to mitigate the spread of broad-leaf weeds and maintain the aesthetics and functionality of outdoor spaces in the community.

The outdoor sports fields included in the program are:

• Bell Park (800 Block Caribou Street E)

• Optimist Park (500 Iroquois Street W)

• McCullough Field (4th Avenue NW and MacDonald Street)

• Parkhill (1000 Block Duffield)

• Blackwells Park (1400 13th Avenue NW)

• Adams Diamond (700 Block MacDonald Street E)

The city asks residents and their pets to avoid treated areas for at least 24 hours prior to application. Signs will be displayed at each site to inform residents that treatment has recently occurred.

The signs will be removed once the areas are deemed safe for use. The city asks residents to follow posted guidelines to ensure the weed control efforts are effective and maintain the safety and wellbeing of park users.
