A tragic incident occurred Thursday afternoon on Government Road South in Weyburn.

SaskPower confirmed two of their employees passed away from injuries after what they called a serious safety incident. In a media release Thursday evening, they said their thoughts and prayers are with their families, friends and coworkers.

SaskPower stated they are working with authorities as investigations into the situation continue.

UPDATE:

Friday morning, a statement was released by Dustin Duncan, the Minister Responsible for SaskPower. In it, he offered his condolences to the families of the employees, and to the entire staff at SaskPower, noting it is a tight-knit group of employees across the province. In the statement, Duncan also said he would be suspending election campaign activities for the day out of respect for the families and the community.
